A food activity was held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on March 11. The live broadcast was watched by residents online due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

The activity is held every year in Xiaoxi Village Community in the run-up to World Consumer Rights Day, which falls on March 15. Usually, local residents are invited to taste the delicious food and provide feedback.

However, because of the epidemic, the activity was live broadcast instead, and 50 residents were invited to make comments online based on their general impressions of the dishes. Eight police officers and community workers were invited to taste on site. The activity attracted more than 200 online viewers.

There are over 30 restaurants in the community, nine of which have resumed takeaway services. Three restaurants which were recently classified as star restaurants provided the food for the activity.
