Yuan Jianming, a disinfection and sterilization expert from Nantong, arrived in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province and  the city hardest hit by the epidemic in China, on Feb 18.

In response to the call of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu province sent a six-member team on Feb 17 to help with disinfection and sterilization work in Hubei.

"The other five experts have stayed in Huangshi, in accordance with the national 'pairing-up support for Hubei' policy. I'm joining two experts from other cities to aid Wuchang district in Wuhan," Yuan told Nantong Daily.

"The two experts have already been here for several weeks. They are responsible for epidemic control and diagnosis. I will guide the environmental disinfection work at centralized quarantine areas and residential areas," he added.

According to Yuan, Wuchang district is one of the most hard-hit areas in Wuhan. Pedestrians are hardly seen on the streets because have been forbidden from leaving their residential compounds. All daily necessities are delivered by designated community workers.

To date, the national disease control body has dispatched 203 experts specializing in lab texting, statistical analysis, virus and epidemic investigation, and disinfection to the frontline in Hubei.
