Community official in Chongchuan spares no effort in epidemic control
Zhang Jie has serves as the secretary of the branch Party committee of the central business zone community in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province for 12 years. She has confronted head-on the new challenges posed by the novel coronavirus.
Zhang is charged with handling epidemic control in a community of over 10,000 residents as well as managing over 3,500 enterprises expected to resume to work.
She takes temperatures of locals, along with the director of the community and guards, and urges residents wear masks when going out. Every household is given a pass which must be presented when entering the residential building.
There are 19 households in quarantine in the community – Zhang asks about their situations through phone every day.
When a resident surnamed Hu reported that his mother had a fever, Zhang promptly advised them to go to the hospital. Luckily, it was just a common cold.
Zhang also circulates information on returning to work. She led a management group to visit over 2,300 local enterprises and advised 60 enterprises against resuming work ahead of schedule.
