The Nantong Tongji Science and Technology Industrial Park, located in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently opened. The first enterprises to operate in the park signed agreements during the opening ceremony.

Qian Suomei, district mayor of Chongchuan, said that the district has been promoting communication with Shanghai in recent years, as the city is striving to develop itself into an economic center of the northern Yangtze River Delta region.

The district is becoming both a more livable place for residents and a more attractive place for investors, as some major new transportation infrastructure will be constructed soon, including a high-speed railway from Chengdu, Sichuan province to Shanghai that runs along the Yangtze River, and a new airport to be located in Nantong.

The industrial park is expected to cooperate with enterprises operating there, facilitate high-tech development, and improve innovation capacity with the help of technologies and talents from Tongji University.

Several enterprise representatives delivered speeches during the opening ceremony, and a total of eight enterprises signed agreements of intent with the industrial park.
