An international duathlon was held at the Langshan National Forest Park in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Dec 26, 2019.

The event was the first of its kind in Nantong and was meant to celebrate the New Year. More than 400 amateurs from China, France, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Israel took part.

Participants were divided into two categories: adults and children. Adults were further separated by gender.

There were three programs for adults – a 10-kilometer run, a 28-km bike ride, and a duathlon consisting of a 16-km bike ride and a 6.6-km run. Two events were available for children – a 16-km bike ride and a duathlon consisting of an 8-km bike ride and a 3.3-km run.

"I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and I expect to take part in more activities like this," said Alexandre Sybillan from France, who won the men's duathlon with a time of 56 minutes 6 seconds.
