Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, recently showcased its favorable investment environment and development in the information technology (IT) industry during a promotional fair in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

More than 100 enterprise representatives and experts from domestic and foreign research institutes were invited to the fair.

Chongchuan district has been honored as a national demonstration district for its livable environment, being an attractive place for transnational enterprises and one of China's top 100 districts for its investment environment. Its strength ranks top in the city cluster in the Yangtze River Delta Region.

The district intends to develop IT as one of its key industries, and its output in high-tech industries accounts for over 61 percent of the total industrial output. 

More than 3,000 invention patents from the district's 23 national innovative platforms have been granted, and over 200 outstanding talents and talent groups have been attracted to the district.

Jiang Jianchun, deputy secretary of Chongchuan district's Party committee, said that local government will put forward further preferential policies and provide financial support to talents contributing to the district.

Jiang also expressed hope that entrepreneurs and experts from Shenzhen can cooperate with Chongchuan to jointly develop the IT in the district.

During the fair, six project deals were signed in the fields of high-tech, intelligent systems and new energy sectors.
