Two underground parking lots in Nantong West Station have been finished after 14 months of construction, and the station will be completed by the end of June 2020.

According to the plans, the building area of the station's underground works reaches 72,000 square meters. Over 1,000 parking spots have been created for general vehicles, taxis and new energy vehicles.

The station is expected to connect the metro lines and railway lines. Supporting passenger terminals, bus parking lots and underground parking lots will also be established, allowing people to transfer conveniently.

It will take just 40 minutes for passengers to get to Shanghai from Nantong West Station, when the Shanghai-Nantong Railway opens in 2020.

Li Zhengfa, chief engineer of the project, said that the construction is complex and difficult, but it is being carried out smoothly with the joint efforts of participating enterprises and departments.
