Nantong zoo ready for national rating

The Nantong Forest Safari Park in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was included on a list of candidates to be rated a national 4A-level scenic spot in 2020, according to an announcement by the province's Department of Culture and Tourism.

There are a total of seven candidates on the list, the others being located in Nanjing, Lianyungang, Huai'an, Yangzhou, and Taizhou.

The Nantong Forest Safari Park is located at No 299 Tongliu Road, Gangzha district, Nantong. It officially opened on Sept 28, 2018 and covers an area of more than 200 hectares.

It is home to nearly 20,000 wild animals, including several rare species such as pandas, white lions, African lions, South American tapirs, and caracals.
