Tongzhou-based company earns 30th Luban Prize
Nantong Sijian Construction Group, based in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, was honored with two China Construction Engineering Luban Prizes on Dec 10.
To date, the group has won a total of 30 Luban Prizes, more than any other construction company in the province.
One of the awarded projects is a cargo inspection zone near the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Zhuihai Port, which covers an area of 234,000 square meters. It consists of office buildings, clearance channels, and an intelligent transportation system.
During construction, the group has made project quality and safety its top priority while also ensuring it opens as planned, although typhoons and severe tropical storms have hit the construction site several times.

The business center of China Medical City, which was built by the group, won a Luban Prize as well. The 81,000-sq m center is located in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, and was also listed as a national demonstration project for green construction.
The group has adopted the "10 innovative technologies" issued by China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It also won two national invention patents and four utility model patents during construction.
The Luban Prize, established in 1987, is considered China's most prestigious award for construction and engineering. Only 120 projects receive this honor among a total of around 900,000 every year.
