A database for overseas Chinese was officially launched on Dec 5 in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

The database, initiated by the city's federation of overseas Chinese, consists of three sub-bases for individuals, companies, and overseas organizations.

The database offers information related to industry, notices and announcements, a variety of activities, services related to safeguarding human rights, and attracting skilled workers.

According to authorities, there are about 100,000 Nantong natives living in 120 countries and regions around the world.

The database is meant to strengthen ties between Chinese living in Nantong and overseas, allowing the local government to learn about their needs and offer timely support.

Companies funded by overseas Chinese can also access useful information on the platform related to policies, investment, and recruitment.
