An e-commerce platform for China's nylon industry was officially launched in Hai'an, Nantong, Jiangsu province on Dec 4. Many enterprise representatives and government officials attended the launching ceremony.

Yu Lizhong, mayor of Hai'an, said that Hai'an's nylon is well-known in China, and the industry has developed in clusters over the past few years.

Hai'an also focuses on e-commerce, and has established a national enterprise, a provincial base, a provincial town, four provincial communities, and five provincial enterprises as demonstration areas for e-commerce, Yu added.

The launch of the e-commerce platform in Hai'an will help cultivate nylon enterprises, expand markets for nylon products and promote industrial transformation, accelerating the development of the local nylon industry.

Yu expressed the hope that leading enterprises in the nylon industry can promote their products through the platform and expand the influence of the local nylon industrial network. The output value of Hai'an's nylon industry is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan ($14.21 billion) in the future with the help of the e-commerce platform.

The first batch of 10 enterprises operating on the e-commerce platform received licenses during the launch ceremony.
