Chongchuan pursues higher-quality governance
A meeting was recently held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province to discuss high-quality local development. It was attended by district leaders and other government officials.
Liu Hao, secretary of Chongchuan district's Party committee, suggested the district stick to the plan issued by the municipal government and make improving the central urban area its top priority.
The district's gross regional product and general public budget revenue have consistently ranked highly among urban districts in prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Delta Region.
The district is also working to become part of Shanghai's one-hour commuting zone with the help of an improved industrial structure and a better natural and living environment. It hopes to develop into a safe district filled with high-end industries, innovative products, civilized residents, and a healthy environment.
Liu added that the district has been focusing on integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, cyber security, and the internet of vehicles with the help of the Yangtze River Delta Cyber Security Industrial Park and the Robot and Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park.
Qian Suomei, head of Chongchuan district, said that a concentration of emerging industries should be developed and the modern service industry should be integrated with other existing industries. He also said the district needs to improve the efficiency of land use and implement more innovative land policies.
The district plans to promote modern social governance and encourages all residents to partake in city development, said the deputy secretary of the district's Party committee.
At the meeting, a total of 12 government departments also shared the achievements they made this year and set goals for next year.
