Chrysanthemums are currently in full bloom in a national demonstration industrial park for integrated agriculture in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

Workers are busy drying newly picked chrysanthemums. According to one of the workers, the chrysanthemum-drying process requires extreme attention to detail, as a single mistake can significantly affect the quality of the products.

The chrysanthemums grown in the park are mainly used for making tea, as the flower is believed to soothe the throat and improve eyesight.

Many locals have been tempted to begin growing the flower due to its short cultivation period and high economic potential.

A resident surnamed Zhou planted chrysanthemums in a small 10-mu (0.67 hectares) field last year and earned over 200,000 yuan ($28,417) in sales revenue. This year, he expanded his field to 40 mu.

In the future, Zhou plans to establish a tracking system for his flowers and develop the best chrysanthemum plantation in Rudong.
