A total of 15 journalists from 12 media outlets from Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, India, and Uzbekistan took part in a "Hi Jiangsu" media tour in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, from Nov 24 to 25.
During the two-day event, the group studied the local culture, economy, and technological development by visiting the Langshan National Forest Park, the Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, the Nantong Museum, Zhongtian Technology Group, and more.
Journalists also learned about the city's government and services while visiting a community in Chongchuan district.
"What impressed me the most was the city's environmentally-friendly development model," said Dominic Galeon, a columnist with the Manila Bulletin in the Philippines.
"The lush landscapes of the Five Mountain area show how much importance the local government has placed on environmental protection," he added.
The media trip has been hosted by China Daily and the information office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government since 2015. It is meant to showcase the unique charm of the province and enhance its international profile.
This year, the event ran from Nov 21 to 25, and participants visited Nanjing, Yangzhou, and Nantong to learn about their achievements since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
