chinadaily.com.cn Updated: 2019-11-15

Residents of Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have been growing radishes for more than 1,000 years.

Due to the area's favorable climate and sandy soil, Rugao radishes are considered the tastiest in China.

The radish, which has been named a national geographical indication protection product, is sold around the world and brings in a significant income for local farmers.
