The H3 wind power plant, with an installed capacity of 400 megawatts, is currently under construction in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province. It is the largest offshore wind power plant in Asia.

Wind power has become attractive to investors in the new energy industry, which has been listed as one of six major industries in Nantong since 2016.

Nantong has now upgraded its grids to generate power with different types of energy and is working to establish the first offshore wind power plant cluster in China at the million-kilowatt level.

More experiments will be carried out in an effort to cut costs and improve efficiency, which would result in a reduction in electricity prices.
