A tourism product exhibition was held from Oct 18 to 21 at the Nantong International Conference and Exhibition Center as part of the 2019 China Forest Tour Festival.
In addition to 350 exhibitors from more than 30 Chinese provinces, cities, and autonomous regions, a number of overseas Chinese merchants and representatives from foreign consulates and business offices also showcased dozens of products from their home countries.
"They come from Nantong's sister cities in more than 10 countries, including Japan, Canada, and Cuba," said an official from the city's foreign affairs office.
Exhibits included wine from Italy, coffee beans from Cuba, eaglewood from Vietnam, and persimmons from South Korea.
"I've been in Cuba for 30 years and I'm honored to promote exchanges and cooperation between Cuba and my hometown," said Wang Hongyun, head of the Nantong chamber of commerce in Cuba.
The Nantong native said that the exhibition served as a platform for cooperation between Cuban and Nantong merchants and provided a wealth of opportunities for locals.
