A riding event through Haimen and Qidong, both county-level cities in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, was held on Oct 17, showcasing the beautiful rural scenery along Jianghai No 1 Road.
The road is one of 15 landscaping projects Nantong carried out for the 2019 China Forest Tour Festival, which opens in the coastal city on Oct 18.
More than 300 riders set off from Leting village in Qidong and traveled 52 kilometers to the Zhang Jian Cultural Tourist Site in Changle town, Haimen.
Officials from the Nantong culture, broadcasting, television and tourism bureau said that the road is part of the local government’s effort to promote the integrated development of tourism and agriculture.
In addition to the aforementioned Zhang Jian Cultural Tourist Site, the road also passes through a number of other scenic spots in Haimen and Qidong, including a wetland park, Wannian Temple, a memorial hall for martyrs, and a provincial-level modern agricultural park.
