The 2019 China Forest Tour Festival will kick off in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on Oct 18.

The city’s foreign affairs office has invited more than 10 sister cities in Japan, Korea, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Vietnam, Cuba, Australia, Cambodia, and the United Arab Emirates to participate.

So far, 68 overseas Chinese merchants and representatives from foreign consulates and business offices have confirmed that they will attend the event.

Guests will display dozens of products from their home countries, including food, beverages, handiworks, cosmetics, and souvenirs, at a tourism product exhibition during the festival.

Nantong is the first prefecture-level city to host the event. The local government has made thorough preparations, aiming to use the event to showcase the city’s development, raise its profile, and promote cultural exchanges and international cooperation.
