Zhai Qingwei, a female football player born in Nantong, Jiangsu province recently took part in the selection and training process for the national football team. She is the second female football player from Nantong to play in the national team, following Xu Yanlu.

The 23-year-old is already a key player in Jiangsu's football team. This season, her team took home the championships in the national league, the tournament and the Football Association Cup, becoming the first football team in China to win all three championships.

Xu said that Zhai is highly capable at left-back. She's not strong, but she is clever and understands the sport supremely well.

Zhai said that this training is an excellent opportunity for her. She also expects to participate in next year's Olympic qualification.

Yuejiang secondary school in Gangzha district is an important training base for women's football teams in Nantong. The girls' football team at the school was first organized in 2004. 

To date, two players in Gangzha have been selected to join the national team, and over 30 players have been selected to football teams in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shaanxi provinces.
