The 10th International Medicinal Mushroom Conference (IMMC) and the 297th Chinese Engineering Science and Technology Symposium was held in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on Sept 19.

The conference’s tagline was “Medicinal Mushroom Science: Innovations and Challenges”, and it featured a wide range of academic discussions and keynote speeches, scientific forums, poster presentations, and exhibitions of edible and medicinal mushroom products.

More than 1,000 scholars, experts, and company representatives from 43 countries took part in the event, including members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The 1st IMMC was held in Kiev, Ukraine in 2001 and the event has been held every two years since then.

This is the third time China has hosted the event following the 5th IMMC held in Nantong in 2009 and the 7th held in Beijing in 2013.
