Chongchuan promotes employment, startups
The government of Chongchuan district has stepped up efforts to increase its employment rate, with a total of 33,542 people getting jobs over the last three years, according to local officials.
Officials said that the unemployment rate has been kept under 3 percent and the local government will take further measures to promote employment.
Over the past three years, a total of 264 job fairs have been held in the district, offering 84,391 vacancies. The local human resource department has also set up special areas during the fairs to offer a wide range of services, including tests on vocational abilities.
More than 100 vocational training sessions in dozens of occupations -- such as nursing and 3D printing -- have been offered to nearly 10,000 local farmers and the unemployed, 9,352 of whom have acquired professional certificates, officials said.
They added that in addition, the district is encouraging local companies to organized regular training for employees to improve their skills and maintain their competitiveness in the job market.
The district has not ignored start-up businesses. Officials said Chongchuan has provided a number of incentives and overall services to create a sound business environment.
The district is currently home to six provincial level, 11 prefectural level and five district level incubator incubation centers, serving as a bridge to facilitate communications among employees, companies and the government.
To date, the local government has helped an estimated 1,232 people start up businesses and created 3,043 jobs. A total of 385 people have received 1.85 million yuan ($260,145) in allowances.
