An Israeli delegation from the country’s Science, Culture and Sports Ministry visited Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on Sept 4.

The visit was meant to promote cultural exchanges between historical cities in the two countries, according to the Israeli officials.

During their trip, they visited the Nantong Museum and enjoyed local folk performances.

The delegation also visited Shen Lei, deputy Party secretary of Nantong, to discuss bilateral cooperation in culture, science, and arts.

Shen said that Nantong has a close partnership with Israel and the city is currently home to 12 Israeli companies.

Israel is also an important market for Nantong’s labor exports, with more than 5,000 Nantong natives working in the country.

Israeli officials said that they would try to learn as much as possible about Nantong during their visit in order to lay the groundwork for future cooperation.
