The district passed evaluation by the provincial government at the end of 2018 and is now making efforts to expand services provided by the platform, adding things like mobile payment and self-service terminals.

The platform aims to gather individual healthcare information from medical institutions so as to improve the efficiency of medical services.

It employs a number of advanced systems, such as the HIS system, drug management system, and regional medical examination system. It offers various basic services, including basic information, medical services, public health services and drug supervision services

To date, the platform has served two district-level hospitals, five health centers, 21 county-level health centers, 208 village-level medical organizations, and two private hospitals, according to Zhang Wujun, director of the Tongzhou Health Commission.

“The informatization of the healthcare system can help Tongzhou better utilize regional medical care resources and meet the health needs of both urban and rural residents,” said Zhang.

The information platform is expected to serve all medical and health institutions in Tongzhou and become a comprehensive and authoritative medical service platform within the next three years.
