Rugao's affairs come under the spotlight

The Standing Committee of the CPC Rugao Municipal Committee hosted a meeting on July 27, in order to brief participants about the work performed in the city in the first half of this year and set goals for the second half.

Attendees at the meeting included Zhang Jianhua, Party chief of Rugao, He Yijun, mayor of the city, and directors from other government bodies in Rugao.

Officials reported good progress made with the city’s overall work in the first half of the year, especially in construction of projects, pollution control, Party affairs, and economic performance. They also discussed the difficulties and methods to tackle problems in these aspects.

Zhang said that the city performed well in areas such as economic development, project construction, poverty alleviation and pollution prevention.

In the second half of the year, the city should continue to do well in these areas, and government officials should also improve their governing capabilities, to explore further development,  Zhang added.

Following the meeting, officials visited selected places in the city, to learn about their development.
