Jiangsu Nantong No 2 Construction Co, which is based in Qidong, made it onto the list of the top 100 private firms in Jiangsu province, according to a recent announcement made by the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce.

The company came in at number 17 on the list. The ranking was decided by the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce, based on the revenues of private companies in Jiangsu province over the past year.

Candidates for selection had to hit annual revenue of at least 16.2 billion yuan ($2.35 billion), an increase of 4.94 billion yuan on the requirement for the previous year.

The list showed that 11 groups registered overall revenue of more than 100 billion yuan over the past year, and 21 companies hit more than 50 billion yuan in revenue.

Last year, Nantong No 2 Construction Co was responsible for construction projects covering a total area of 61.78 million square meters, up 8 percent year-on-year.

The total output value of the company reached 64.7 billion yuan in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent. 

The company is a grand slam winner of the top three national awards in China’s construction industry: the National Quality Engineering Award, the Luban Award and the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize.
