A parent-child tour themed around salt production will be introduced in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on July 27.

The activity is organized by the Nantong Museum with the goal of teaching people about the history and culture of the local salt industry.

Salt production is the oldest industry in Nantong, dating back to the early Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 24).

During the tour, participants will visit a salt-themed exhibition at the museum and a traditional salt field in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, where they can learn about salt production techniques and try their own hands at making salt.

Children between the ages of 8 and 15 can sign up with their parents until July 24. The price is 100 yuan ($14.54) per person, which includes transportation, lunch, and insurance.
