A vocal performance was held at the Xinghu 101 Civil Square in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on July 4.

At the event, people from all walks of life sang My Motherland and Me to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and show their respect and love for the country.

Construction of the area was approved by the central government on Dec 19, 1984 as one of China’s first 14 national-level economic and technological development areas.

Over the past few decades, it has developed into a multifunctional area that combines office buildings, scientific research and education institutes, cultural and entertainment facilities, residential areas, and beautiful natural landscapes.

It has been included in a list of the top 10 development zones most attractive to transnational companies.
