A group of journalists and representatives from the Turkish major media and think tanks visited diversified industrial company ZTT Group in Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, on June 12.
The activity was organized by CCTV or China Central Television and the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, with the aim of allowing more foreigners to learn about China’s current state of development.
Nantong was the first stop of the trip, which is being followed by many other cities across China, including Suzhou and Beijing.
During the visit to ZTT Group, the Turkish delegation was deeply impressed by the company’s development and expressed their approval of its contribution to Sino-Turkish commercial relations.
The ZTT industrial facility in Turkey has provided much-needed products and created many jobs for the locals, said the chief editor of the Daily Sabah newspaper.
Starting with the optical communications products in 1992, ZTT now has diversified into communications, electric power grids, new energy, maritime equipment and intelligent manufacturing.
The company operates more than 70 subsidiaries with 150,000 employees. It has set up factories in eight countries, including India, Brazil, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Germany. Its products are sold to 147 countries and regions around the world.
One member of the media delegation said that ZTT is a big name in Turkey. A journalist from Turkish Radio and Television Co said that its investment in Turkey had strengthened trade and economic ties between the two countries. He made his remarks while commenting on the company’s acquisition of a Turkish cable business last year.
