A cooking competition was held at a farm stay in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, in East China’s Jiangsu province, on June 5.

Held for the third straight year, this year’s event featured the Dragon Boat Festival and local gastronomic specialties.

A total of seven teams from the government departments of Zhuxing sub-district took part in the event, each supported by two skilled cooks and a good hand at wrapping the zongzi dumpling snacks for the festival.

With their joint efforts, they provided a variety of dishes with local characteristics, including chrysanthemum-shaped fish, braised pig tails and Dongpo braised pork.
