A piano concert featuring Chinese classics was held at Gengsu Theater in Chongchuan district, Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, on June 1.

Artists Wang Lu and Zhu Haobing performed several famous Chinese folk music pieces, including Bai Niao Chao Feng (or Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix) and Butterfly Lovers (Liang Shanbo yu Zhu Yingtai), during the concert.

The activity was hosted by the Nantong piano academy, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

According to the organizers, some international master class sessions will be held later in the year, providing more opportunities for local piano enthusiasts to learn from world-class artists.
