Rudong promotes food science and technology
The opening ceremony for a weeklong promotional event on food science and technology was held in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 27.
The event, which focused on the promotion of science and brands, was intended to create a favorable environment for improving food safety in the area and promote the development of the county's food reserves. Zhou Haijian, a Rudong official, said that the event will last for a week.
"Rudong Rice", which was recognized as a national geographical indication trademark in 2016, will be promoted during the event. The local food department has expanded the planting area for rice and established a strong relationship with local rice suppliers.
The county plans to enhance cooperation with market regulation authorities to further promote the brand across the country.
