The 2019 China Qidong International Trade Conference -- which opened at the county-level city’s Hengda International Convention Center on May 18 – was a major success, according to officials.

They said that 30 projects were signed during the conference, with a total investment of 27.8 billion yuan (4 billion). The projects covered the fields of logistics, tourism, semiconductors, new materials and new energy -- meeting the current needs of Qidong for its industrial development.

The event helped Qidong attract foreign investment of $1.22 billion. 

Nearly 200 senior executives from companies focusing on the biomedicines sector, as well as electronics information and semiconductors, shipbuilding and cold-chain logistics, took part in the key event.
