A redwood carving exhibition opened at Taobao City in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, on May 12, displaying artworks by 36 local craftsmen.

The exhibition is one of a series of activities marking the 14th Annual Literature and Art Festival. It will run for seven days, ending on May 18.

Redwood-carving and furniture-making techniques in Nantong have a history of more than 600 years. The artworks include beds, desks, cabinets, chairs, tea tables, abacuses, chopsticks, and birdcages.
