Ten firms in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, in Jiangsu province, made it onto the 2018 list of the top 100 private companies in Nantong, according to an announcement made by the Nantong Bureau of Industry and Information on April 23.

The ranking was decided by the Nantong Bureau of Information and Industry and Nantong Confederation of Trade Unions, based on the revenues of private companies over the past year. 

Candidates for the selection had to hit annual revenue of at least 2.42 billion yuan ($359 million), an increase of 16 million yuan on the requirement for the previous year.

A total of 23 new companies appeared on the list. The top two places were Zhongnan Group and Nantong No 3 Construction Co Ltd, with their respective annual sales topping 100 billion yuan. 

According to the list, 58 groups on it specialized in manufacturing, a decrease of two over the previous year; 31 firms focused on real estate, while 11 companies were from the commercial circulation industry.
