Tongzhou to hold development summit

Tongzhou will hold a development summit on April 26 to show the achievements that the district has made in various fields, according to a news briefing on April 24.

The forum is held at the background of supporting the construction of Yangtze River Economic Belt.

This summit will highlight the spirit of exploration, innovation and dedication of Tongzhou people.

Ye Tan, China’s well-known financial commentator will attend the summit and share his views on the prospects of Nantong participating in the development of Yangtze River Economic Zone.

Chen Changjiang, associate professor from College of Economic and Management, will share his research findings on the new opportunities that Tongzhou will face in the economic restructuring in the Yangtze River Delta Region.

In the news briefing, Cheng Xiaohong, executive deputy district chief introduced Tongzhou’s economic and social development and the preparations for this summit.

In 2018, the gross domestic product reached 126.9 billion yuan ($18.86 billion) in Tongzhou, the highest among districts to the north of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu province.

Last year, the per capita disposable revenue reached 48,138 yuan in Tongzhou, an increase of 8.5 percent year on year.
