EPS (Ever Progressing System) Group, a leading medical technology company in Japan, is set to play an active role in promoting big data applications in the healthcare industry in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, a senior executive told the Nantong Daily.

Facilities for EPS Tigermed (Nantong) Co, a joint venture between EPS and Hangzhou Tigermed Consulting Co, are under construction at the Nantong Big Data Industrial Park and will soon start operations after their completion in September.

The company will expand its business, based on its experience gained in clinic trial data, and aim to earn more than 300 million yuan ($44.76 million) in the next three to five years, according to Yan Ping, the company’s chairman.

EPS is focused on providing “optimal outsourced solutions” to customers in the healthcare industry. Its independently-developed EDC (Enterprise Data Center) cloud service platform has been widely used in international pharmaceutical companies and national research projects in Japan.

Yan said that EPS Tigermed operation will combine its parent company’s experience in Japan with the market demand in China to provide high-end services.

“I believe the company will have a promising future in Nantong, due to the city’s advanced transport network, profound culture and history, favorable business environment and its ambition to be a big data hub in East China,” Yan added.
