Nantong Port’s throughput rises 10% in Q1

Cargo throughput at Nantong Port in East China’s Jiangsu province increased 10 percent year-on-year to 64.54 million tons during the first quarter of this year, local authorities said in a statement on April 15.

Throughput of mineral construction materials topped the list of major commodities, with sharp year-on-year growth of 100.2 percent. A total of 17.25 million tons of mineral construction materials were handled at the port during the period.

Oil and coal also represented stable growth, with 14.1 percent and 2.7 percent increases respectively. The throughput of oil reached 5.74 million tons, while that of coal hit 15.14 million tons.
