Ningqiang county holds promotional event in Gangzha
Ningqiang county in Northwest China's Shaanxi province started a spring farm produce and tourism promotion fair in Gangzha district, Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province on April 6.
Over 100 kinds of products divided into over 40 categories from throughout Ningqiang county, such as tea, honey, and edible fungi, are on display at the Ningqiang Farm Produce Exhibition Center, which opened in Gangzha district's Outlets Plaza in October 2018 and has generated 3 million yuan ($446,971) in sales.
In addition to food, intangible cultural heritage and tourism are also highlighted at the fair. Ningqiang county is a national pilot area for the protection of Qiang ethnic culture. Qiang folk customs are well preserved there.
Qiang embroidery, a local intangible cultural heritage with a history of more than 2,000 years, is still widely used in decoration and has attracted many Gangzha residents to the event.
The culture and tourism bureau of Ningqiang county introduced the county's natural environment, tourist attractions, and travel routes. To encourage Gangzha residents to travel within Ningqiang, the bureau is offering free on-the-spot tour services for 10 people.
Summer vacation tours targeting families in Gangzha district have also been launched to give parents and children an opportunity to experience village life in Ningqiang county.
The fair will run until April 14.
