Qidong cracks down on fake products

Tons of fake and shoddy products confiscated by the authorities in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, in Jiangsu province, were incinerated under the supervision of law-enforcement officers, on March 13.
The crack-down campaign on pirate products was initiated by Qidong to mark the International Day for Consumers’ Rights and Interests which falls on March 15.
More than 70 tons of goods, worth over 1 million yuan ($149,680) were confiscated and destroyed.
Moving forwards, officials say the county-level city’s Market Supervision Administration, which was in charge of the campaign, will continue to initiate special clean-up programs in the fields of consumer products, supplies for children, household appliances, finished materials and vehicles.
