A volunteer tree-planting drive will take place at Seyuan Garden scenic area in Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province from March 5 to 15, as part of events to mark Chinese Arbor Day, which falls on March 12.

As a designated tree-planting area for the city, the garden already contains around 1,000 trees planted by volunteers, with numerous events held over the years.

This year will be larger in scale than in the past, with approximately 300 to 400 trees planted –– mainly plum trees, red maples and cherry trees, said Zhang Lu, an executive from the administration office of the garden.

Local residents can sign up for the event on the official website of Seyuan Garden at www.ntseyuan.com, or at the ticket office outside the northern gate of the garden until March 12.
