Nantong is exploring the possibility of building homes in Israel as part of efforts to expand further into the Israeli market, as the city’s construction firms have successfully completed a number of projects in the country over the past few years.

Construction teams from Nantong are highly valued in Israel for their professional skills, scientific management and high efficiency, said Sheng Xingjun, an executive at the Israeli branch of Longxin Construction Group.

According to Sheng, the company is looking for a local partner to help it develop further.

A growing number of professionals from Nantong are currently working in Israel to complete  construction projects that have been agreed between the two sides.

At present, a total of 2,300 Nantong natives are working in Israel, with the Israeli government willing to let in as many as 4,500 workers.

An Israeli branch of the Nantong Foreign Economic Cooperation Association has been established to promote local companies’ development in the country.

Nantong construction firms are also using Israel as a stepping stone to enter the market in more developed countries, forming a global development blueprint for industrial upgrading.
