Nantong reports strong export of agricultural products

The export volume of agricultural products in Nantong reached $804 million last year, ranking first in East China’s Jiangsu province, according to statistics from the local custom authority.

The figure exceeded $800 million for the first time and accounted for more than one fifth of the province’s total export value of agricultural products.

The products mainly comprised livestock, poultry, seafood, and processed vegetables, which collectively accounted for 71.6 percent of the total.

In addition, the export of seafood reached a year-on-year growth of 17.4 percent last year.  

In 2018,a total of 229 local companies dealt with exported agricultural products, 19 more than the previous year. Among them, 20 reported they earned  more than $10 million last year.
