The second phase of the Nanjing-Qidong Railway opened on Jan 5, shortening the journey between Nantong to Haimen to 38 minutes. The train ticket to Haimen costs 9 yuan ($1.31).

The section has a total length of 107.2 kilometers, of which the Haimen section is 38.36 kilometers long.

A total of six stations serve the railway: Nantong, Nantong East, Haimen, Linjiang, Qidong and Lyusi. Haimen Station will be a passenger and freight station. Linjiang Station will be an auxiliary station.

Haimen Railway Station is located north of the junction between Changjiang Road North and Haimen Ring Road. It is about 3 kilometers from the city center and has a construction area of about 8,000 square meters.

The middle gate of Haimen Railway Station is the entrance to the station. There are three self-service real-name ticket inspection machines and two manual ticket inspection channels.

For the first time, the railway station has installed self-service real-name gate machines equipped with facial recognition technology.

The toilets, nursing rooms, and drinking water rooms in the waiting hall have all been completed.

According to staff members at the station, the waiting hall can accommodate up to 1,500 people at a time. The ticket office has also been completed, with six automatic ticket machines put into service, and the manual ticketing window is ready for operation.
