Local residents in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, will soon be able to take a train without having to go to the big city with the construction of Qidong Railway Station to be completed in the very near future, according to a recent news release by a local media organization. 

According to the news release, most of the construction work at the railway station has been completed at this time. 

Construction of the railway station is part of the Nanjing-Qidong Railway construction project, which started in 2014, stretching 93.6 kilometers, with a total investment of 6.5 billion yuan ($945 million). 

The overall length of the railway going to Qidong is 39.6 km, and it is designed for trains going at 160 km per hour.
