The award ceremony of the Chinese Recitation Contest for Foreigners in Nantong was held on Dec 21.

The contest was jointly organized by the Nantong municipal foreign and overseas Chinese affairs office and the Nantong people's association for friendship with foreign countries.

Foreigners from 17 countries, employed in a variety of fields ranging from senior executives of foreign enterprises to teachers and students, have participated in the contest since it began in May.

They experienced the unique charm of Chinese culture by reciting Chinese classics, including Chinese poetry, prose, modern poetry and Nantong-related works during the contest.

Two attendees from Indonesia and Russia both won the first place.
