An exhibition of photographs was held at Qidong Library to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of Qidong city, as well as the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, on Dec 16.
The exhibition, hosted by Qidong publicity department, depicted the life stories of 90 local residents aged 90 years old. Their stories were recorded in a book –– Qidong 90, which was officially launched at the exhibition.
By recording the stories of the nonagenarians in a book, the organizer hopes to mirror the development of Qidong city since it was established as a county in 1928, as well as the reform and opening-up policies that began to be implemented 40 years ago.
Also, the organizer wanted to promote Qidong’s image as a “longevity town” –– by choosing senior residents to share their stories.
