The Nantong government and JD.com signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on Dec 20. 

Lu Zhipeng, Party chief of Nantong, and Xu Huimin, deputy Party secretary of Nantong, met with Wang Zhenhui, CEO of JD Logistics before the signing ceremony.

Lu introduced Nantong’s opportunities in some major strategies, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta Region and the construction of the Shanghai metropolitan region.

JD.com will get more opportunities and greater development space in Nantong, Lu added.

Xu said that the strategic cooperation between JD.com and Nantong is based on the city’s geographical advantages, development opportunities and sound business climate.

According to the agreement, the global air cargo hub of JD Logistics will be located in Nantong. Meanwhile, the two sides will conduct comprehensive cooperation in aspects including logistics systems, urban data infrastructure, smart city construction and government procurement.
