The Nantong Central Innovation District Promotion Conference, jointly hosted by the Nantong government, was held in Shanghai on Dec 12. 

Nantong is dovetailing its development strategy with the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta, seeking synergetic development with Shanghai. The city has lined up with Shanghai in areas such as industry, logistics, policies and urban functions, and its comprehensive competitiveness has significantly improved in recent years. 

According to official statistics, more than 50 percent of the city’s enterprises have cooperated with Shanghai in various fields, with seven cooperation parks being built and more than 100 projects each worth over 100 million yuan ($14.56 million) having settled in Nantong.

Lu Weidong, deputy director of Nantong central innovation district management committee, said that through holding the same goals of innovation-driven development, Nantong and Shanghai will share more opportunities for development and cooperation.

Nantong will provide preferential policies and all-round services for innovative talents and entrepreneurs, Lu added. 

A total of 17 key cooperation projects were signed during the conference, including the international innovation center of Plug and Play, the intelligent manufacturing innovation center of Yangtze River Delta, the research center of Fuhua Group in east China and the "cloud platform" of Wonders Information.
