The 2018 Nantong Agricultural Products Production and Sales Fair was held in Shanghai on Nov 30.

Zhang Zhaojiang, deputy Party secretary of Nantong; Zhu Jilu, Party secretary and council director of Jiangsu Provincial General Supply and Marketing Cooperative, and Zhao Gang, council director of Shanghai Supply and Marketing Cooperative, attended the fair.

Zhang Zhaojiang said that Nantong is famous for its longevity and its abundant fish and rice. Nearly 50 percent of the city’s agricultural and sideline products  are supplied to Shanghai, with annual sales of approximately 20 billion yuan ($2.91 billion). The city’s products have a reputation for being high quality, having reliable origins and looking fresh and attractive.

The fair is a practical action on the part of Nantong to implement the strategy of rural revitalization, deeply integrate into the development of the Yangtze River Delta region and build the "north gate" of Shanghai, Zhang added. The move will deepen the exchange and cooperation between Nantong and Shanghai. 

Several Shanghai enterprises reached agreements on agricultural products production and sales cooperation with Nantong’s new agricultural business entities, and signed contracts with a total value of 1.63 billion yuan over the course of the fair. 

Zhang Zhaojiang also visited the Nantong pavilion of Jiangsu Famous Characteristic and the High-quality Agricultural Products (Shanghai) Trade Fair.
